I know this is a year old comment but he should've assumed right away that both his parents will be dead once his dad called and said the word "Monster" He already knew just from that word that his parents ran into a parasite so he's better off thinking they're dead right away and to not trust either of them if they show up at the house since they could easily be a parasite , but his soft ass had to go ahead and be in denial while also threatening to kill the one parasite that was helping him survive the whole time , While his mother's body was acknowledging the parasite as one of her own and talking with that lifeless tone like come on man Shinichi is just soft af for someone who stabbed Mr. A and was thinking of killing Tamiya even tho he knew she was having a human child that would die once he killed her he was still considering it multiple times! We can talk about if the parasytes are bad or not as it seems like they're also just tying to survive, but in Shinichi's point of view of course the ones killing his kind, his friends and family are evil.
